Account Information

• First and last name
• User role (senior or caregiver)

Profile Information

• Seniors: Age, health status, medical conditions
• Caregivers: Experience level, specialty

Care Data

• Tasks and task items (medications, exercises, diet, appointments)
• Task completion records
• Health metrics (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, blood sugar)
• Activity logs

Technical Data

• Device notification tokens (for push notifications)
• App usage preferences (dark mode, notification settings)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and maintain the care management service
• Send task reminders, medication alerts, and health update notifications
• Enable connections between seniors and caregivers
• Track task completion and health progress
• Generate activity logs and weekly progress reports

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Supabase, which provides:

• Encryption in transit: All data is transmitted over TLS (HTTPS)
• Encryption at rest: All stored data is encrypted on disk
• Row Level Security (RLS): Database policies ensure you can only access your own data and data shared through authorized connections
• Role-based access control: Permissions are enforced based on your role and active connections

4. Data Sharing

Your data is only shared in the following circumstances:

• Connected users: When you establish a connection with a senior or caregiver, relevant care data (tasks, completions, health metrics) is shared between connected parties
• With your consent: Optional data sharing with family members or healthcare providers, if you enable these features
• Legal requirements: If required by law, regulation, or legal process

5. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal data through the App
• Modify your profile information and preferences at any time
• Delete your account and all associated data from the Settings page
• Withdraw consent for optional data sharing features
• Disconnect from any connected senior or caregiver
• Export your data upon request

6. Notifications

CareConnect may send local and push notifications for:

• Task reminders and medication alerts
• Connection requests from other users
• Weekly health update summaries

You can manage notification preferences in the App's Settings. Disabling notifications will not affect core app functionality.

7. Children's Privacy

CareConnect is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us so we can delete it.

8. Third-Party Services

CareConnect uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase: Database hosting, authentication, and real-time data synchronization
• Expo: App build and notification delivery infrastructure

These services have their own privacy policies governing their handling of data.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App or by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
