Terms of Service - CareConnect

Please read these Terms of Service ("Terms") carefully before using CareConnect ("the App"). By creating an account or using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using CareConnect, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you may not use the App.

2. Description of Service

CareConnect is a care management application that helps seniors and caregivers:

Create and manage daily care tasks (medications, exercises, diet, appointments)
Track task completions and health metrics
Establish connections between seniors and caregivers
Receive reminders and notifications for care tasks
Monitor weekly progress and activity

Important: CareConnect is a care management tool and does NOT provide medical advice, diagnoses, or treatment recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical decisions.

3. Account Registration

To use CareConnect, you must:

Provide a valid email address
Provide accurate personal information (name, role)
Be at least 13 years of age
Accept the Privacy & Consent agreements during onboarding

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. User Roles and Connections

Seniors

Senior users can share their care data with connected caregivers. By accepting a connection request, you authorize the connected caregiver to view and manage your tasks and health information.

Caregivers

Caregiver users can create tasks, log health metrics, and monitor progress for connected seniors. Caregivers must use this access responsibly and only for care management purposes.

Either party may terminate a connection at any time through the App's Settings.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Impersonate another person or create false accounts
Attempt to access another user's data without authorization
Interfere with or disrupt the App's services or infrastructure
Use the App to store or transmit malicious content
Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App

6. Health Information Disclaimer

CareConnect is NOT a medical device and is not intended to replace professional medical care. Health metrics recorded in the App (blood pressure, heart rate, weight, blood sugar) are for personal tracking purposes only. Do not rely on this App for medical emergencies. In case of a medical emergency, contact your local emergency services immediately.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, features, and functionality of CareConnect (including design, code, text, graphics, and logos) are owned by CareConnect and are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without prior written consent.

8. User Content

You retain ownership of any data you enter into the App (tasks, health records, profile information). By using the App, you grant us a limited license to store and process this data solely to provide the service as described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Termination

You may terminate your account at any time by using the "Delete Account" feature in Settings. Upon deletion:

All your personal data will be permanently removed
All active connections will be terminated
All tasks, health records, and activity logs will be deleted

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, CareConnect shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

Your use or inability to use the App
Any errors or omissions in the App's content or functionality
Missed notifications or reminders
Unauthorized access to your account
Any health decisions made based on information in the App

11. Warranty Disclaimer

CareConnect is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

12. Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of significant changes through the App. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws, without regard to conflict of law principles.
